Hello everyone,

I'd like to announce that the student newspaper and news website, formerly known as El Vaquerito, has updated our site and reverted our name to The Torch, which was the name of the student paper back when our school was Livermore Union High School in the 1930s.

The name change was inspired in part by the research my students did into the school's history while working on our special edition paper for the 125th anniversary celebration last year. While we were looking for old content to include, we found that the student publication had gone through several name changes over the years.

My students were drawn to The Torch in particular because of the rather poetic tagline that accompanied the name: "Truth Lights the Way." After discussing the pros and cons of a name change, the kids voted and made it official.

We hope that The Torch will continue to serve as a record of the history of our school and that you will enjoy reading the content our kids create.

Please make sure to visit the site often during the school year. We update frequently and love to see comments and feedback from students and staff. Please also encourage your students to read and comment. We hope that this

Here's the link to the new site: http://lhstorch.com/ . We hope you enjoy The Torch
