Tyler Olson finished of a great season by running a 4:15.52 at the State Meet Prelims on friday just missing the finals but in good position for next season.

The cowboys had great performances at MOC this past weekend. Bennie Lokula, Patrick Leary, Alex Hernandez, and Tyler Olson all qualified to the Finals on Saturday. Frankie Kerstetter medaled in disc taking 5th and The shot taking 4th with a personal best of 52'8". The day was capped of by Tyler Olsons unbelievable performance in the 1600 running a time of 4:15.38 and taking 3rd overall. That performance qualified Tyler to represent the cowboys at the State meet next friday. Great job and good luck.

The Cowboys continued their great season by sending 10 athletes to MOC this weekend. Leading the charge was Bennie Lokula who qualified in 3 events taking 4th in the 100, 4th in the 200 and was part of the 4x100 team that included Andrei Kasten, Ledre McCollough and Jacob House which finished 3rd overall. The 1600 saw 3 Livermore athletes qualify while all running PR's Alex Hernandez on the girls side who ran a time of 5:06.05. And for the boys Patrick Leary ran a 4:21.60, and Tyler Olson who ran an unbelievable time of 4:19.10 to place 2nd overall. In the Field events the success continued with Frankie Kerstetter qualifying in both the Shot Put and the Disc by placing 4th overall. Drake Foote and Andrei Kasten contributed making it through in the High Jump with jumps of 6'4" and 6'2" respectivly. Allison Strout continued her success by qualifying in the Triple Jump with a mark of 33''4". The boys team was able to place 4th overall at the meet one of its highest finishes. To go along with all the great performances at the EBAL championship Livermore saw 2 school records fall. In the boys 4x100 the team of Bennie Lokula, Andrei Kasten, Jacob House, and Ledre McCollough broke the school record with a time of 43.20. In the 100 Bennie Lokula added another school record by breaking the 24 year old record with a 10.90. Bennie also moved into 3rd place all time in the 200 with a time of 22.33. Frankie Kerstetter improved his second all time mark in the discus with a throw of 164'4" shatering his PR by almost 11 feet.

Livermore continued it success on saturday sending a total of 15 athletes to NCS next saturday. Qualifiers include Andrea Honig in the Pole vault, Allison Strout in the Triple Jump, Drake Foote in the High Jump, Andrei Kasten in the High Jump and 4x100, Frankie Kerstetter in the Shot Put and Discus, Ledre McCollough in the 4x100 and 4x400, Jacob House in the 4x100, Bennie Lokula in the 4x100 the 100, the 200, and the 4x400, Tyler Olson in the 1600, Patrick Leary in the 1600, Alexandra Hernandez in the 1600 and 3200, Jackson Crose in the 3200, Brian Garcia in the 4x400, Zack McPherson in the 4x100, and Trevor Houghton in the Long Jump. After Day 1 of EBAL Varsity Trials/Finals we have 5 athletes moving on to NCS with hopefully more to follow on day 2. Those moving on are:

Andrea Honig -Pole Vault, Allison Strout- Triple Jump, Drake Foote-High Jump, Andrei Kasten- High Jump, Frankie Kerstetter-Discus.

Frankie also PR in the Discus with a throw of 164'4" improving his mark as second all time at Livermore High School.

The Following athletes have qualified for the EBAL Trials. Wednesday will be frosh trials for running events and finals for field events. Thursday is Trials for Varsity events and the finals will be on saturday. Check with your coach to see when you need to be at the meet.

Congratulations to Andrei Kasten who jumped 46'3.25" in the Triple Jump on 4/25 to place him second all time in Livermore history. Also Frankie Kerstetter went 50'3.5" in the shot placing just outside the top 3 of all time. Tyler Olson ran the best 1600 of the year at 4:23.98.

Livermore had a great showing at the Dublin Frosh/Soph Championships led by Jackson Crose winning the 3200 with a time 9:50.55 and second in the 1600 with a time of 4:35.24. The Girls dominated the Long Jump with Rachel Esser placing second, Erika Miller placing 3rd and Sarah Partridge placing 4th. Sarah also matched her season best in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.43 Shasta Grant and Rachel Esser along with Ladre McCollough led the way in the sprints. Delany Foote also had a great day PRing in the 100 hurdles, the triple jump, and the high jump. Megan Heller-Evans and Alice Aufderheide took 4th and 6th respectively in the Girls disc while Daniel Nunez had a throw of 108'9" placing just outside the top spots. We also had athletes competing at the James Logan top 8 this past saturday. Bennie Lokula dominated in the sprits winning the 100 and placing a close second in the 200 with a time of 22.55 a time placing him just outside the top 3 all time at LHS. Andrei Kasten was able to take 3rd in a very competitive high jump and triple jump. There performance were not to be out done by the great distance performances of Patrick Leary who won the 1600 and the 3200 and Alex Hernandez who also swept the 1600 and 3200. Great job Cowboys.

The cowboys showed well at the Castro Valley Invitational on saturday winning many individual medals as well as placing second in the mens team competition. Frankie Kerstetter improved in personal best in the disc with a throw of 153'10" placing him second all time in Livermore history. Andrei Kasten had a great day as well with a triple jump of 44'5" making him 4th all time. He followed this performance up with a long jump of 21' and a high jump of 6'2" to win the competition. The distance group swept the relays by running a 10:58.79 in the distance medley and 8:33.72 in the 4x800.

Congratulations to Bennie Lokula and Frankie Kerstetter who have placed in the top 3 of the LHS Track and Field all time records. Bennie ran a 10.99 at Foothill placing him second all-time only .02 seconds of the best mark. Frankie threw 150'7" in the disc placing him 3rd overall only 3 feet behind second place. Congratulations to Joel Schmeirer who ran the 800 in the unbelievable time of 1:54.03 setting new school record and placing him 10th in the state and 58th in the nation.  YouTube link
