LIVERMORE HIGH TENNIS
Livermore High Tennis is committed to being a “Championship Program.” This includes winning on the court, demonstrating respect for the game and our opponents, and giving the utmost effort in both in the classroom and on the court.
1. PLAYER AND PRACTICES
a. Attend all team meetings, team functions, practices and all competition unless prior notice is provided to the coach. First Day of Practice Monday 2/4/134:00pm.
b. Location: Del Valle CHS 2252 5th Street, Livermore
c. Practices: M-Th 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
d. Challenge matches for ladder advancement on Fridays.
Players are expected to provide their own racquets. Each player should carry at least one racquet. Having two racquets is preferable in case of string breakage.
Players will be afforded the opportunity to purchase team uniforms. Players are required to dress in the team uniform for matches. Please launder your uniforms often.
Appropriate athletic shorts, shirts, sweatshirts, tennis court shoes, water bottles, sun screen, sweat bands, bags, and like personal items are required for use during practices and matches. Obtaining and using these are your responsibility.
3. PLACEMENT OF PLAYERS
All players will be given equal and ample opportunities to earn playing positions. Head-to-head challenge matches held on Fridayswill determine ladder position for matches.
4. TRAINING SUGGESTIONS
a. Get at least seven hours of sleep each night.
b. Eat balanced meals ate regular hours, keeping snacks to a minimum. Eat many small meals.
c. Drink plenty of water, milk, and fruit juices. Avoid “cokes” and other carbonated drinks.
d. Relax after you eat. Build time in your schedule to just sit and enjoy life, even if it is only for a few minutes.
e. Take care of your health in all aspects, physically, mentally, and morally.
f. Push yourself to keep working hard even when you are tired in order to improve your physical fitness.
g. Practice moderation and good judgment in all aspects of your life.
4. TRANSPORTATION LHS does not provide transportation to away matches. Parents of players are encouraged volunteer to take turns carpooling players to away matches. Parents that drive carpools must carry adequate vehicle insurance. A Proof of insurance form must be furnished beforehand.
5. SNACKS FOR HOME MATCHES EBAL tennis tradition holds that the home team provides drinks and snacks for both teams. Parents of players are encouraged to volunteer to take turns providing such snacks.
